Sarkar

Sarkar is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language political crime thriller film directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures.

The story revolves around Sundar Ramaswamy, a highly successful non-resident Indian businessman based in the United States, who arrives in Chennai to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election. However, he finds out that someone else had already voted in his name.

When Sundar decides to investigate the matter, he becomes entangled in conflicts with powerful and corrupt politicians who are implicated or involved in the unfolding events surrounding his discovery. The film follows his journey as he tries to expose the wrongdoing by investigating individuals who have allegedly voted under his name.

The film stars Vijay, Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Tulasi, Radha Ravi, and Pala. Principal photography for the film began in January 2018, marking Murugadoss's collaboration with Vijay for the third time.
