Synopsis
Paadam is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Rajasekhar.
The film stars newcomers Karthik and Mona as school students Vijith and Nagendran, alongside Yashika Aannand and Jangiri Madhumita in pivotal roles. The music is scored by Ganesh Raghavendra.
Produced by Gipin P.S., the film follows Jeeva, a school boy who questions the inabilities and defects in the Indian educational system and shows his frustration towards studying lessons in English instead of Tamil.
The story centers around Jeeva's internal conflict and external actions stemming from his dissatisfaction with how education is conducted in India, particularly its neglect of local languages like Tamil in favor of English. His father, a police officer, also struggles to speak in English.
Paadam was released on 27 May 2018.
