Synopsis
Kanithan is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by T. N. Santhosh and produced by S. Thanu.
The movie stars Atharvaa as Gowtham Ramalingam, an intelligent TV journalist working at a small channel who comes from generations of media professionals.
Gowtham stumbles upon Anu, played by Catherine Tresa, during one of his reporting assignments and develops feelings for her. The film's plot revolves around this central relationship while incorporating elements typical of the action thriller genre.
The movie features music composed by Sivamani and explores themes common to action cinema alongside its romantic storyline.
Kanithan was released in February 2016 and has been remade into Kannada's Athiratha (2017) and Telugu's Arjun Suravaram (2019).
