Varalaru is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language action-drama film written and directed by K. S. Ravikumar.
The film stars Ajith Kumar as a father and his two twin sons, with Asin, Kanika, Ramesh Khanna, Suman Setty, Sujatha, and M. S. Baskar playing supporting roles.
The movie's soundtrack and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman.
Initially titled "Godfather", the title was changed to Varalaru due to the Government of Tamil Nadu's motion to exempt tax on films titled in Tamil.
The film was released on 20 October 2006 on the eve of Diwali and became a blockbuster at the box office, running for 215 days.
Varalaru has been remade in Kannada and Burmese, with the original title being used in those versions.
