Synopsis
Thirumalai is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film directed by Ramana and produced by Kavithalayaa Productions.
The film stars Vijay and Jyothika, alongside Manoj K. Jayan, Avinash Yelandur, Vivek, Raghuvaran, Kausalya, and Karunas.
Music was composed by Vidyasagar, while cinematography and editing were handled by R. Rathnavelu and Suresh Urs.
The film follows the story of Thirumalai (Vijay), a mechanic who falls in love with Swetha (Jyothika) after she greets him on New Year's Day, saying "Everyone will do fine". However, their happiness is threatened when Swetha's father seeks the help of a local thug to kill Thirumalai.
Thirumalai became commercially successful at the box office and marked a turning point in Vijay's career as he transformed into an action hero from a romantic hero.
