
Thalaimagan is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by R. Sarathkumar and starring himself alongside Nayanthara, Vadivelu, and Vijayakumar.
The story is set around the bulwark of honest and public good institution of Everest, where a fearless journalist Ayya leads an intrepid scribe Dheeran. Dheeran is a writer and doer who uses his hands to push the pen when the power of words seems to be waning.
Dheeran runs into the evil axis of politico and police web, represented by corrupt Minister Shanmuga Sundaram and a venal cop Alanakaram. He frustrates their plans with his mixed ways, but a new water bottling plant becomes a major confrontation issue.
Dheeran painstakingly exposes all the chinks in the project, leading to violent reprisal from Shanmugasundaram. However, Dheeran comes back from the dead as a new man with renewed force and slowly but stealthily exposes their bad deeds with clinching evidence.
The film marked Sarathkumar's directorial debut and was released on 21 October 2006.
