Suyamvaram is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language comedy drama film produced and co-written by Giridharilal Nagpal.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Vijayakumar as Kuselan, Manjula Vijayakumar as Suseela, and Sathyaraj, Prabhu Ganesan, Abbas, Rambha, Roja, Kasthuri, Maheswari, Preetha Vijaykumar, and Suvalakshmi in supporting roles.
The story follows Kuselan's 60th birthday celebrations, where he asks his nine children to get married before he dies. A state-wide ad is put out, offering a piece of the family properties and 1 crore in cash to those chosen to marry Kuselan's children.
However, things take a turn when most of the children have already fallen in love with their intended partners. The film was shot in a single day and features an unusual collaboration between 14 directors, 19 cinematographers, and over 30 prominent actors.
The movie opens with Kuselan's heart attack at his 60th birthday celebrations, where he asks for one last favour: that all his children get married before he dies. The story takes a surprising turn when Mansur Ali Khan kidnaps the nine brides for ransom.
