Sollamale is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Sasi in his directorial debut.
The film stars Livingston as Natraj, an honest village artist who comes to the city to find a job, becoming a banner artist instead. Kousalya plays Shwetha, a US citizen who loves India and its culture, staying with her relatives to learn Bharatnatyam.
Shwetha mistakes Natraj as a mute and pities him initially, but their association gradually blossoms into love. However, Natraj is guilt-ridden for not being honest with Shwetha, leading to a tragic conclusion.
The film was released on 1 August 1998 and became a box office success. It was later remade in Telugu as Seenu (1999) and in Hindi as Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai (2002).
