The film stars Rajendra Prasad as the title character alongside Nassar, Rambha, and Anuradha Menon. The story follows Quick Gun Murugun, an unlikely superhero who protects the world against arch villain restaurant owner Rice Plate Reddy.
Featuring outlandish songs, outrageous melodrama, and crazy action sequences, including a classic duel in a traffic jam, the film is a spoof on Indian western films. The character of Murugun was created in 1994 and was featured in India's Channel V promos.
