Synopsis
Moovendhar is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by Suraj (credited as C. G. Suraaj) in his directorial debut.
The film stars R. Sarathkumar and Devayani, and was released on 12 January 1998.
Manimaran, the protagonist, falls in love with Vaidehi, a Brahmin girl, despite her father's refusal due to caste differences.
Manimaran's family, including his father Poochi and grandfather Nagappan, are short-tempered persons who beat villagers for simple quarrels, but Manimaran's mother Sivagami is the only one who can control them.
Uma, Manimaran's sister, marries a man from another village, while Manimaran takes his father and grandfather to Vaidehi's house to ask her to marry him.
The film follows Manimaran's attempts to win over Vaidehi despite the objections of her family and his own family's violent tendencies.
