Aval is an Indian Tamil-language erotic drama film released in 1972.
The story revolves around Geetha, the daughter of a millionaire, who falls in love with Chandranath, a writer. Despite opposition from their families, they elope and marry after having sex before marriage.
Chandranath's newfound fortune leads him to develop a drinking problem, which subsequently affects his behavior negatively. His friend is implicated in the murder of Geetha's father during an attempted rape on Geetha.
In the aftermath, Geetha is falsely accused and accepts responsibility for the crime out of trauma or coercion, but Chandranath takes the blame upon himself to protect her.
The film stars V. Nirmala, A. V. M. Rajan, Srikanth, and Sasikumar, and was written and directed by A. C. Tirulokchandar, produced by Vijayalakshmi Pictures, and presented by Nahatha Pictures.
Aval! (transl. She!) is a remake of the 1971 Hindi film Do Raha, released on 15 September 1972, and became a commercial success.
