Athma is a 1993 Indian supernatural thriller film directed by Pratap Pothen and produced in the Tamil language.
The film stars Ramki, Rahman, Nassar, Gautami, and Kasthuri, and is based on the book The Miracle by Irving Wallace.
The plot follows Raghu, an atheist archaeologist, who goes to an isolated village with his father for research. His father vanishes mysteriously after discovering a prophecy stating that God will arrive on Purnima day at the Nagakali Amman temple.
A parallel storyline involves an atheist terrorist group led by Saravanan who seek to destroy the Nagakali Amman temple due to its significance according to the prophecy.
The film also explores personal subplots, including Pathma's feelings for Naveen and his terminal illness from cancer, as well as a tragic backstory for Saravanan.
Athma was released on 9 July 1993.
