Synopsis
Aasai is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film directed by Vasanth and produced by Mani Ratnam.
The film stars Ajith Kumar, Suvaluxmi, and Prakash Raj, with Rohini, Poornam Viswanathan, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Vadivelu in supporting roles.
Cinematography was handled by Jeeva, while music was composed by Deva.
The film follows the story of Saraswathi "Yamuna", a young woman whose brother-in-law, Major Madhavan, becomes infatuated with her after seeing her photo in a letter. Meanwhile, Yamuna meets Jeevanantham "Jeeva" on a bus, who gives his ticket to her.
Aasai was released on 9 September 1995 and became a huge commercial success, marking Ajith Kumar's first major breakthrough in his career. The film was remade in Hindi as Pyaar Zindagi Hai (2001).
