Ponnumani

Ponnumani is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by R. V. Udayakumar.

The film stars Karthik, Soundarya in her Tamil film debut, and Sivakumar.

The story revolves around Ponnumani and Chinthamani, childhood sweethearts who are engaged to get married after Chinthamani completes her education. However, upon their reunion, it is revealed that Chinthamani has been brutally molested and is pregnant, leading to the death of Kathirvelu.

Ponnumani tries to arrange Chinthamani's marriage with the rapist, Uday Prakash, but he shows no remorse for his act. The film explores Ponnumani's struggle to cope with the trauma and find justice for Chinthamani.
