Marina

Marina is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language children's comedy drama film written, produced, and directed by Pandiraj.

The film stars Pakkada Pandi, Gautham Purushoth, Sivakarthikeyan, and Oviya, with the latter marking her debut. The music was composed by Girishh G.

The story follows Ambikapathy, an orphan who escapes his cruel uncle to Chennai and ends up at Marina Beach. He earns a living by selling drinking water packets and later poached chickpeas to beach visitors. His calm manners win him friendship with other boys employed at the beach.

Ambikapathy dreams of being educated and works during the day to save money for schooling, while studying at night on his own. The film explores themes of child labor, education, and friendship.

Marina was released on 3 February 2012 and won two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards: Best Dialogues and Special Jury Award for Best Film.
