Uru

Uru is a 2017 Tamil-language psychological thriller slasher film directed and written by Vicky Anand.

The central character, Jeevan, a famous fiction author, feels his work has become outdated due to changing trends. He decides to retreat to Megamalai, a remote location known for its tranquility, in search of solitude to rejuvenate his creative process and write anew.

Upon arriving at Megamalai, Jeevan finds peace but soon becomes embroiled in unfortunate incidents that unfold around him. These events escalate to threaten his own safety and put others at risk within the idyllic setting he sought out.

The film's story is inspired by psychological thrillers such as The Shining, Secret Window, and Hush. It stars Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika, and Mime Gopi, with a soundtrack composed by Johan Shevanesh, cinematography handled by Prasanna S. Kumar, and editing performed by San Lokesh.

Uru premiered in India on June 16th, 2017.
