Uriyadi Suruli
Seththumaan is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Thamizh and starring Manikkam, Ashwin, Prasanna Balachandran, and Savithri.
The film tells the story of Poochiyappa, a humble basket seller who dreams of social mobility for his grandson, Kumaresan. Kumaresan's parents died in a devastating caste riot that affected their village. Poochiyappa must navigate the complexities of his relationship with his landlord, Vellaiyan, while dealing with the tensions surrounding meat consumption in their community.
The film is based on Tamil writer Perumal Murugan's short story Varugari and marks Thamizh's directorial debut. It was released on May 27, 2022, and was produced on a budget of 6 lakh rupees.
