Petta

Petta is an action-drama film released in 2019, directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.

The central figure of the film is Kaali, a newly-hired hostel warden played by Rajinikanth. His life becomes complicated when his old nemesis Singaaram resurfaces after an extended period of absence, setting off a chain of events driven by revenge motives.

Other key actors in the film include Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Simran, Trisha, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, and several other performers. The plot revolves around Kaali being drawn into a dangerous conflict initiated by Singaaram, involving political power and underworld activities.

The film was officially announced in February 2018 under the tentative title Thalaivar 165, with principal photography commencing in June 2018. It was shot in several locations including Darjeeling, Uttar Pradesh, and wrapped by late-October 2018. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
