Orange Mittai is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language road comedy drama film directed by Biju Viswanath and starring Vijay Sethupathi.
The film follows Sathya, a paramedic with an emergency ambulance service, who embarks on a journey to retrieve an old man named Kailasam, who claims to be critically ill. As they travel together, the crew encounters various challenges due to Kailasam's grumpy and obstinate nature.
Kailasam is revealed to have a heart condition and a penchant for laughing in the face of death, despite his chronic diabetes. The film explores themes of mortality, regret, and the human desire for pleasure and connection.
Produced by Vijay Sethupathi, Orange Mittai was released in India and abroad on July 31, 2015, and had its festival premiere at the 20th Busan International Film Festival. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi alongside Ramesh Thilak, Aashritha, Aaru Bala, and Karunakaran.
