
NOTA is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language political thriller film directed by Anand Shankar.
The film stars Vijay Deverakonda making his debut in the Tamil film industry, playing the lead role as Varun, the son of Chief Minister Vasudev "Nasser" (played by Sathyaraj). After corruption charges are brought against him, Nasser is arrested and sent to jail, leaving Varun in charge of running the state.
Varun, a novice in politics, must navigate the complexities of being a Chief Minister without prior experience or understanding of the demands of the position. The film explores his journey under these unique circumstances, dealing with political pressures and responsibilities thrust upon him unexpectedly.
The musical score and soundtrack were composed by Sam C. S., while the cinematography and editing were handled by Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran and Raymond Derrick Crasta.
Produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under his production house Studio Green, the film is an adaptation of the novel Vettattam by Shan Karuppusamy, who also contributed to the screenplay.
The film premiered with a cast including Mehreen Pirzada, Nassar, Sanchana Natarajan, Karunakaran, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Yashika Aannand, M. S. Bhaskar, and Rajendran in supporting roles.
