Synopsis
Kanaa is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language sports drama film directed by Arunraja Kamaraj in his directorial debut.
The story centers on an Indian village girl, born to a poor farmer, who becomes attached to the sport of cricket under her father's influence. She strives to become a professional cricketer despite facing significant obstacles including societal pressures and financial struggles for her family.
A central theme explores her evolving relationship with her father during these difficult times. The film features Sathyaraj, Aishwarya Rajesh, Sivakarthikeyan, and Darshan in the lead roles.
The music is composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, while Dinesh B. Krishnan handled cinematography for this production from Sivakarthikeyan Productions.
The film was released theatrically on 21 December 2018 and was remade in Telugu as Kousalya Krishnamurthy, with Aishwarya and Sivakarthikeyan reprising their roles.
