Synopsis
Kalai Vendhan is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by R. K. Parasuram.
The film stars Ajay and Sanam Shetty in the lead roles, with Thalaivasal Vijay playing Kalai's guru. The movie follows Kalai as he trains to become a teacher of the martial art form Vovinam under his guru's guidance at a martial arts school.
Malar, played by Sanam Shetty, visits the school and becomes acquainted with Kalai, leading to a romantic relationship between them. However, Malar's mother disapproves of their choice, and it is later revealed that Malar has been kidnapped, prompting Kalai to take action.
The film showcases Sanam Shetty performing stunts without a stunt double in her first action scenes, and explores the Vietnamese martial art form Vovinam as its core theme. The movie was released on 7 August 2015.
