Kaappaan

Kaappaan is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. V. Anand and produced by Lyca Productions.

The lead roles are portrayed by Suriya, Mohanlal, and Arya, with supporting performances from Sayyeshaa, Samuthirakani, Poorna, Boman Irani, and Chirag Jani.

The narrative follows Kathiravan, a Special Protection Group (SPG) officer tasked with protecting the Prime Minister he is assigned to guard. A mysterious man attempts an assassination during a public event, posing a significant threat to the Prime Minister's life and potentially the nation at large.

Kathiravan must work diligently to identify this unknown assailant and uncover their motives or connections, thereby preventing further danger. The plot revolves around his investigation into the threat posed by this individual who successfully tried to harm the leader he is sworn to protect.

The film was released theatrically on 20 September 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics. It grossed ₹90.5–100 crore at the box office, marking the final directorial work of K. V. Anand before his death in April 2021.
