Synopsis
Buffoon is a 2022 Tamil film directed by Ashok Veerappan and starring Vaibhav in the lead role.
The movie follows Rangarajan, a powerful casteist politician who confronts his party leader for an MLA seat and threatens to start a separate party if his demands are not met.
The narrative explores Rangarajan's journey and the lengths he is willing to go to achieve his political ambitions.
Interestingly, the film draws parallels with the historical role of jesters, also known as jokers or fools, who entertained guests at royal courts and common folk at fairs and town markets.
The film features a cast including Anagha and Anthakudi Ilayaraja, with Aadukalam Naren and Joju George playing supporting roles.
The music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Dinesh Purushothaman and Vetre Krishnan, respectively.
