Asuran

Asuran is an Indian Tamil-language period action drama film released in 2019, directed by Vetrimaaran and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu.

The story originates from the novel "Vekkai" (Heat) written by renowned Tamil novelist Poomani.

The principal actors include Dhanush, who portrays two distinct roles within the narrative, Manju Warrier as the female lead, Ken Karunas in one of his notable appearances for this film, and Teejay Arunasalam.

The film's music score was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography credited to Velraj and editing handled by R. Ramar.

Asuran premiered on 3 October 2019 following the release of its trailer on Dhanush's birthday.

The film won two awards at the 67th National Film Awards—Best Feature Film in Tamil and Best Actor (Dhanush).
