Prabhakaran alias Prabhu is a college student who often argues with others to the point of being repeatedly arrested. His foster father, Nehru, a psychiatrist, used to bail him out in the past. Meanwhile, Swetha, the sister of commissioner of police Ravichandran, tries to escape from her escort and crosses paths with Prabhu, leading to a fight.
During this encounter, Prabhu says 'I love you' to Swetha, impressing her and causing her to fall in love. He then learns that his foster parents are taking him to meet his real father Lakshmi Narayana, who has been receiving treatment in a mental hospital.
Prabhu's journey takes him to Kerala, where he meets a former bodyguard of Lakshmi Narayana and discovers the truth about his father's past. He also encounters local politician Ramadasu, whose son attempts to kill him due to their complicated history.
