Synopsis
Vaidehi Kalyanam is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Manivasagam.
The story revolves around Rajamanickam, a respected village chief with two daughters: Gowri and Vaidehi. Gowri is married to a wealthy but alcoholic man who abuses her, while Vaidehi falls in love with Chinnasamy's son Kalyanam. A doctor named Krishnamoorthy arrives and establishes his clinic after Rajamanickam loans him the premises.
School teacher Vasanthi advises Kalyanam against eloping with Vaidehi without her father's blessing, while Vaidehi's sister is married to an alcoholic who wants to prevent Vaidehi from going through a similar fate. The film stars R. Sarathkumar, Rekha, Ramarjun, and Uthra, with Delhi Ganesh, Goundamani, Senthil, Ilavarasan, and Kavitha playing supporting roles.
