Vaanam Vasappadum is a 2004 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by P. C. Sreeram.
The film stars Karthik Kumar and Poongkothai Chandrahasan, with Revathi, Nassar, Vijayakumar, and Thalaivasal Vijay in supporting roles.
The music was composed by Mahesh Mahadevan, editing by Kasi Viswanathan, and cinematography by P. C. Sreeram himself.
The film is based on a novel written by Sujatha and tells the story of Karthik, a young lawyer who falls in love with Poongothai, the daughter of a businessman.
After facing false accusations, Poongothai's family seeks help from Karthik, leading to their eventual marriage after his parents' consent.
The film was released on 23 April 2004 and holds the distinction of being the first high definition film shot, edited, and released in India.
