Uruvam is a 1991 Indian Tamil-language supernatural horror film directed by G. M. Kumar.
The film stars Mohan, Pallavi, R. P. Viswam, debutante Veera Pandiyan, and Jayamala in key roles.
The plot revolves around an illegitimate son who loses a court battle over his right to live in a palatial house previously occupied by his legitimate brother Mohan. The illegitimate son enlists the help of Bangaru Muni, who performs a black magic attack on Mohan and his family, unleashing various hungry ghosts into their home.
Mohan, an atheist who doesn't believe in the supernatural or God, is eventually killed by the spirit unleashed by Bangaru Muni. His wife, children, brother-in-law, and even the evil spirit are all victims of this supernatural attack.
Ultimately, Jolna Swamy comes to their rescue and fights against the evil spirit, which is in Mohan's body. The film concludes with the destruction of the spirit, but at a great cost: Mohan is sent to a mental asylum, where he grieves for not believing in Almighty God.
