Urimai Geetham is a 1988 Indian Tamil-language political thriller film written and directed by R.V. Udayakumar in his directorial debut.
The movie stars Prabhu as Thyagu, who shoots Karthik (portrayed by Karthik) during the latter's father Charu Hassan's election victory speech. Despite being caught, Thyagu denies involvement, claiming it was a drama with a fake gun. Karthik, determined to find his father's murderer, joins forces with Thyagu in this unexpected turn of events.
The plot revolves around the assassination of an honest Chief Minister Bhoominathan (Karthik's father) during a public function. The film features Prabhu and Karthik, with editing by G. Jayachandran and a soundtrack composed by Manoj–G. Udayakumar won the Best New Director award at the 9th Cinema Express Awards.
