Synopsis
Thangappathakkam is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language crime drama film directed by P. Madhavan and written by Mahendran. The story is based on Mahendran's play of the same name.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan as Choudhry, a strict police officer prioritizing duty over family, alongside K. R. Vijaya, Srikanth, and Prameela playing his wife and son Jagan respectively.
The narrative centers on the conflict between Choudhry's commitment to justice and his son Jagan's rebellious nature and criminal path.
Thangappathakkam was released on 1 June 1974 and became a commercial success, running for over 175 days in theatres, earning it a silver jubilee status. It served as an inspiration for several other films.
