Synopsis
Samundi is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Manoj Kumar.
The story revolves around Samundi, his mother, and his little sister Lakshmi moving into a new village for peace. However, they face terror from Rajangam and his brother, whose goon activities disrupt their lives.
A significant plot point involves Ponnuthayi, a washerwoman who sympathizes with the family and eventually falls in love with Samundi. The film also touches upon Samundi's tragic past where his sister Rasathi drowned during wedding preparations after clashing with thugs at a temple.
The film stars R. Sarathkumar and Kanaka, and was released on 18 September 1992.
