Rani is a 1952 Indian Tamil-Hindi bilingual film directed by L. V. Prasad and produced by Jupiter Pictures.
The story revolves around Princess Ranjani, who is tattooed with royal insignia as part of tradition but then kidnapped and raised as a gypsy girl named Rani. Unaware of her true heritage, she leads a rough life hawking goods on the streets and involved in fights.
She subsequently falls in love with a soldier, leading to various twists and hardships before eventually discovering her identity.
The film stars P. Bhanumathi in the Tamil version, S. Balachander (replaced by Anoop Kumar) in the Hindi version, and was released on 26 April 1952.
