Synopsis
Ramana is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss.
The film stars Vijayakanth, Simran (in a cameo appearance), and Ashima Bhalla in lead roles.
The story follows Ramanaa, a man who decides to abolish corruption completely with the help of his ex-students working in various government offices.
Members of an Anti Corruption Force kidnap 15 corrupt tahsildars across Tamil Nadu, leading to the release of 14 officers and the discovery of a dead officer's body that provides significant evidence concerning the kidnapping.
The film was released on November 4, 2002, and received positive reviews from critics, becoming a superhit. It won several awards, including the 2002 Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film and A. R. Murugadoss's award for Best Dialogue Writer.
