Raja Rishi is a 1985 Indian Tamil-language Hindu mythological film written and directed by K. Shankar.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Prabhu, M. N. Nambiar, and Nalini, and is based on the play Viswamithran by A. S. Prakasam, which tells the story of sage Vishvamitra.
The film narrates the story of Vishvamitra's journey from being a king to becoming a brahmarishi, facing hurdles along the way, and ultimately learning humility as he fixes the life of his daughter Shakuntala.
