Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by K. Balachander.
The film stars Bharathi as Manibharati, a successful playback singer who is tricked into marriage by his mother-in-law, Sarathiyamma. His wife Gowri becomes jealous and possessive over his fame and fans, leading to a fight that forces him to leave home.
On the way, he meets Jyothi (also known as Thangam), who is escaping her life as a dancer due to her husband's coercive tactics towards prostitution. The two characters encounter an elderly couple still deeply in love and enjoying life together, which profoundly impacts them.
Bharathi returns home upon receiving false information about Gowri's illness, only to find her with Jyothi again. This leads to a confrontation that results in Gowri filing for divorce and revealing the situation to the media. Bharathi visits her in a hospital where she eventually recovers enough for him to stay.
Realizing they belong together after all, Jyothi leaves Bharathi with Gowri. The film concludes with the revelation that Jyothi's husband has become disabled due to his actions, allowing them to reunite.
The film won a Filmfare Award South and two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
