Pirivom Santhippom is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Karu Palaniappan and starring Cheran and Sneha.
The film tells the story of Visalakshi, the only daughter of a rich Chettiar family living in Karaikudi, who marries Natesan, an engineer working with the State Electricity Board. The couple moves to a hill station where Visalakshi struggles to adjust and becomes unhappy due to her loneliness.
Natesan wants to lead his own life away from his large joint family, while Visalakshi's health begins to deteriorate as she suffers from loneliness and boredom. The film explores the challenges faced by the couple in their relationship amidst the complexities of a joint family setup.
The film features an ensemble cast and was released on 15 January 2008. It received critical acclaim, with Sneha winning several awards for her performance, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress.
