Pattanathil Bhootham is a 1967 Indian Tamil-language fantasy comedy film directed and co-edited by M.V.Raman and written by Javar Seetharaman.
The production company behind the film was Venus Pictures, with Jaishankar and K.R.Vijaya as the main stars. Supporting roles were played by Nagesh, Balaji, Manohar, V.K. Ramasamy, Seetharaman, Rama Prabha, Vijaya Lalitha, and Pandi.
The story revolves around two friends, Thangavel and Sabapathy, who run a successful business enterprise. Thangavel possesses an urn that he considers a bad omen, which he donates as a prize for a competition at his daughter Latha's college. During the event, Bhaskar (Latha's lover) accidentally breaks the urn, freeing a genie.
The genie grants Thangavel and Sabapathy all they want, but their happiness is short-lived as the genie draws attention from a smuggling gang and disrupts one of the protagonist's love life.
