Mappillai

Mappillai is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by Suraj.

The film stars Dhanush as Saravanan, a do-gooder who falls for Gayathri, played by Hansika Motwani in her Tamil debut, the daughter of an arrogant businesswoman named Rajeshwari, played by Manisha Koirala.

Mani Sharma composed the music for the film, while Kishore Te edited it and S. R. Sathish Kumar handled the cinematography.

The movie is a remake of the 1989 film of the same name, based on the Telugu film Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu.

Mappillai was released on April 8, 2011, to mixed reviews but was a decent hit at the box office.
