Manamagal is a 1951 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed and produced by N. S. Krishnan.
The story revolves around Mei Kandar who runs an ashram called Thiruvalluvar Ashram for poor children, providing them with education and skills. His students intervene to rescue Chandra, a pregnant widow abandoned by her remarried husband Bagavathar (a music teacher).
Chandra gives birth in the ashram, and the child grows up there. Meanwhile, Bagavathar abandons his first wife to teach music to Kumari, the daughter of a wealthy person. Kumari is already engaged to S. V. Sahasranamam, who is the son of her father's family friend.
The film stars Padmini, Lalitha, S. V. Sahasranamam, and T. S. Balaiah in its lead roles. It is based on the Malayalam play Suprabha by Munshi Paramu Pillai and was released on 15 August 1951.
A Telugu dubbed version titled Pelli Kuthuru exists.
