Synopsis
Kattalai is a 1993 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Liaquat Ali Khan and starring Sathyaraj and Bhanupriya.
The film follows Sabarathnam, the sole breadwinner of his family who tries to bring down all the atrocities happening in society. He falls in love with Vijaya, adding a personal touch to his crusade.
The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja and lyrics were written by Vaali. A. R. Rahman was initially booked as the composer but was replaced due to producer's concerns.
The film was released on June 25, 1993, and received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Sathyaraj fans and others finding it a "crude remake" of Liaquat Ali Khan's previous film Ezhai Jaathi.
