Synopsis
Kadhal Mannan is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Saran.
The film stars Ajith Kumar and newcomer Maanu in the lead roles, alongside veteran music composer M. S. Viswanathan making his debut in a supporting role.
Shiva, a mechanic, is dared to go to Delhi by a woman named Thilothama to deliver a letter to her soon-to-be-engaged sister Menaka. However, Shiva ends up falling in love with the latter woman.
The film explores themes of love and strictness through the story of Rudran, a disciplinarian father who has disowned his elder daughter due to her elopement with her lover. His younger daughter Thilottama is forced into a marriage alliance, but meets Shiva, who lives in a mansion owned by Mess Viswanathan.
The film was released on 6 March 1998 and became a commercial success.
