Ilaya Thalaimurai is a 1976 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Krishnan–Panju and written by Malliyam Rajagopal.
The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and Vanisri, with Sampath being a poor graduate trying to find a job. Sakunthala, played by Vanisri, is a rich young woman whose mother wants her to marry Kalai, a friend of Sampath's.
Sampath and Sakunthala fall in love but face resistance from her mother and Kalai. He becomes the warden of a college dorm, where he helps students through various issues while maintaining his strict demeanor.
The film follows Sampath's obstacles as he tries to ensure the younger generation is heading in the right direction and reunite with Sakunthala.
