Synopsis
Government Maapillai is a 1992 Indian Tamil action drama film directed by Manivannan.
The movie stars Anandaraj and Kasthuri in the lead roles, with Sundarapandian, an angry orphan working for a wealthy man named Manivannan, at its center. Karthikeyan arrives as a servant at the same estate and develops feelings for the daughter, Kalyani.
Simultaneously, Mallaria, another orphan, attempts to reform Sundarapandian, leading them to fall in love. The central conflict arises when a corrupt MLA rapes and kills a poor girl named Chellayi. Sundarapandian marries Mallaria after deciding against his former violent path.
He then faces a dilemma when he is ordered by Manivannan to eliminate the now-innocent Karthikeyan, ultimately choosing to join the young couple instead.
The film was released on 6 March 1992. The soundtrack was composed for the movie.
