Synopsis
Dheena is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by AR Murugadoss in his directorial debut.
The film stars Ajith Kumar and Suresh Gopi in lead roles, along with Laila as the female lead. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed the music and background score, while K. Aravind handled the cinematography.
The story revolves around Dheenadhayalan aka Dheena, an adopted brother of Aathikesavan, who is sent to attack false witnesses in a case involving Minister Malarvannan's liquor shop. As the story unfolds, Dheena falls in love with a girl and must choose between obeying his brother or carrying out his sister's dying wish to protect her.
The film was released on 14 January 2001 and received positive reviews, becoming a commercial success. It marked the beginning of a new image for Ajith Kumar, earning him the nickname "Thala" (leader).
