Dharma falls in love with Sharmila (Preetha Vijayakumar) but kills a rowdy named Raja after he molests Geetha. He is sent to jail, where his friend Ranjith becomes an ACP.
Upon his release from jail, Dharma becomes a powerful gangster who punishes rowdies in his own way and helps the poor. However, the honest chief minister Vedhachalam gives him free hand to arrest all the goons, including Dharma.
Geetha marries Ranjith, while Dharma's love for Sharmila remains unrequited.
