Chinna Gounder is a 1992 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by R. V. Udayakumar.
The film stars Vijayakanth as Thavasi alias Chinna Gounder, a wealthy and respected landlord who becomes the hereditary Village Judge for his father's district of 18 villages ten years after his death.
Thavasi's family has served in this role since his father's time, and he must now preside over a complex case involving a newly built village temple that stands on land belonging to Sundari, the second wife of Sakkarai. The case involves a dispute between Sakkarai and Thavasi's elder sister, who had previously cited law and sealed off the temple premises just before its opening.
The film was released during the Pongal festival in 1992 and was later remade into Telugu as Chinarayudu and Kannada as Chikkejamanru.
