Synopsis
Chennaiyil Oru Naal is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by Shaheed Kader and written by brothers Bobby and Sanjay.
The film stars R. Sarathkumar, Cheran, Prasanna, Prakash Raj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Iniya, Sachin Mani, Aishwarya Devan, and Gabriella Charlton in ensemble roles.
The film is a remake of the 2011 Malayalam thriller film Traffic and has its narrative in a hyperlink format. It follows multiple stories around one particular incident inspired by an actual event in Chennai.
The story revolves around a traffic cop Satyamoorthy who volunteers to drive a donor heart to save a girl's life, while also dealing with his own inner demons.
The film opened on 29 March 2013 to positive reviews and was a blockbuster at the box office. A spiritual successor titled Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 was released in 2017.
