Chakkaram is a 1968 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by A. Kasilingam and starring Gemini Ganesan as Jambu, Nirmala as Meenakshi, and A. V. M. Rajan in the supporting cast.
The plot follows Jambu, a thief who evades capture by living deep within the forest. When a bounty of ₹1 lakh is placed on his head, complications arise involving Meenakshi, an estate owner under heavy debt, her son, and Babu's sister, who falls in love with the estate owner's son.
Meenakshi stipulates that a ₹50,000 payment is required for her condition regarding her son and Babu's sister not to proceed. This leads Babu and his associates into the forest in pursuit of Jambu, aiming to collect both the bounty money he allegedly stole and the specific sum demanded by Meenakshi.
The film was released on 6 December 1968 and stars Gemini Ganesan, Vennira Aadai Nirmala, and A. V. M. Rajan. It was written and directed by A. Kasilingam and failed commercially.
