Billa is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by R. Krishnamoorthy and produced by Suresh Balaje.
The film stars Rajinikanth as Billa, alongside Sripriya and Balaji, and serves as a remake of the 1978 Hindi film 'Don', written by Salim–Javed and featuring Amitabh Bachchan in the original role.
Billa tells the story of a powerful ganglord who is fatally wounded during an encounter with police. To uncover his accomplices, DSP Alexander trains a lookalike named Rajappa to infiltrate Billa's gang posing as him.
Released on January 26, 1980, it became a major blockbuster, running for over 25 weeks in theaters and marking a significant turning point in Rajinikanth's career.
